Greencycle

Greencycle was created to bring a solution to the inexcusable behavior of not recycling that we all as humans have been taking part in for decades and even centuries. 

The goal of this project was to encourage anyone to recycle by using an innovative app that allows the user to scan a QR code or receipt associated with a recyclable item. The user will accumulate Green points in exchange for recycling and then from there be able to redeem the green points for gift cards at participating establishments. The QR code will be part of product design within participating companies in an initiative to combat recycling. The user will be able to find recycling centers near them using the app as well as learn about recycling.

By 2600 Stephen Hawking predicts that “Overcrowding and energy consumption will render Earth uninhabitable in just a few centuries". Basically we will be living in our own waste material and of the generations before us.

Greencycle was created to put a dent in material diverted from landfills that can be reused. Too many people are careless about waste and do not realize the severity of what will happen in years from now. At the rate that the human race is going we will eventually run out of space for ourselves let alone places for the waste we create.
